All good things must... (you know the saying)

As we roll out the welcome mat for our newest cohort, we’re also tipping our hats to the four brilliant social enterprises that have just wrapped up their 12-month journey with us.

Whether they joined with a seed of an idea or a promising pilot underway, each venture came with a vision to make life better for people in need. Over the past year, they’ve taken big steps forward -pioneering innovative solar solutions in rural Malawi, building Nepal’s first ethical recycling centre, helping Ethiopians access life-saving medication, and opening a preschool supporting female trafficking survivors and their young children.

Their businesses are stronger, sharper, and changing more lives. They’ve achieved so much over the past year - and while we can’t capture it all, here are a few standout moments worth celebrating.

Project leader: Sungeni Segula

  • Launched Malawi’s first women-led energy cooperative, training rural women to assemble solar lanterns using local materials.

  • Recruited 15 women and began training in Chimwaza Village, creating real opportunities on the ground.

  • Developed and prototyped the bamboo-based Kuwala Eco Lamp, now refining a second version for rollout in 2025.

  • Secured additional funding from an All Good Ventures alumni connection to help build a fully equipped local assembly hub.

Project leader: Julia Krepska

  • Navigated a full year of complex government processes to secure paperwork for the centre’s build - a major milestone.

  • Built a fully functioning ethical recycling centre with full End to Child Labour Project team involvement.

  • Produced the first batch of recycled plastic chips and is now exploring profit channels with potential buyers. Greater profits mean more stable jobs for the low-caste community they employ.

Project leader: Becki Sardeson

  • Completed the centre’s build and welcomed the first three students in January.

  • Grew to 23+ students, including six children of women in Bloom Asia’s programme.

  • Hired 11 staff using a strategic hiring plan developed with their All Good Ventures’ mentor.

  • Applied a targeted marketing strategy to attract families and grow sustainably.

Project leader: Yisehak Abraham

  • Grew the tech platform to 337 pharmacies and processed over 2,500 medicine search requests.

  • Introduced a monetisation system with free trials and flexible daily or yearly subscriptions.

  • Began rolling out a referral program to incentivize pharmacy partnerships.

  • Started using AI to analyse search trends in high-need areas like epilepsy and oncology medication - an exciting growth direction.

Saying goodbye - but not for good

We’re incredibly proud of everything these ventures have achieved over the past year - and grateful to have played a small part in their journey.

While our 12-month support has come to a close, the relationships don’t end here. Like we do for all past ventures, we’ll keep cheering them on from afar - sharing their wins, checking in once a year for a quick impact update, and always leaving the door open for a chat.

They may have “graduated,” but they’ll always be part of the All Good Ventures whānau (family). 💛
